The idea for this blog came about as I sat reflecting. I had just jumped feet first into a journey of all things Peloton and I thought why not document my journey along the way in order to keep me motivated and pressing forward.
Over the years I’ve always been a strong writer and often liked capturing my thoughts on paper. But it’s been hit or miss as I got older and allowed the “stresses” of life to take priority in my my life. That allowance led to pre-hypertension and a 40 pound weight gain over the course of less than 3 years.

Who Dis???
I didn’t recognize myself and in the spring of 2019, it took its toll. Mentally I was exhausted. I was the lead administrator at a struggling elementary school and finding staff to buy into my vision was a challenge. Student performance was at an all time low and no matter what I did I couldn’t seem to propel the ship forward. If anything, the currents seemed to be pulling us backwards. So I stopped.
I think I gave up in my head and as a result everything suffered. I had to reevaluate my staff and make some tough decisions. But I digress, this is about my journey to self discovery and being my best self.
October of 2018, I saw my highest recorded weight: 168!! My God! I’m only 4’11”! How did I get here? I was 98 pounds when I got married. My highest weight PREGNANT was 135! What in the world?? And here’s the thing, I’m not a big eater, but I’m a HUGE “snacker”!! My sleep patterns were way off and I would stay up late. Next thing you know I’m nibbling on salt and vinegar chips—I’m not talking about Lay’s, I just had to be bougie and buy damn Kettle Brand kettle chips!! And Werther’s Chewy Caramels. I could eat those by the handful. Drinking water? Forget it! It's not like I drank juice, soda, alcohol beverages, or anything like that. I just didn't drink ANYTHING! I could have one cup of coffee and MAYBE a bottle of water all day and it wouldn't faze me!
Aha Moment....
I had to come to the point where fitness became something I WANTED to do rather than something I NEEDED to do! Fast forward to TODAY! That’s where I am right now and this blog is my accountability partner in redirecting my steps towards the path I plan to travel. Positive vibes and prayers appreciated along the way. Here’s to being our best selves.
